About Requirement:Quest Global is seeking a Welding Engineer to work with one of our key customers in Wolverhampton, UK. Successful candidates will work on site with the existing customer team to ensure compliance to Welding processes and procedures.
Reporting to the Special Process Manager, the Welding Engineer will form part of the Quality team and will be responsible for ensuring compliance to NADCAP procedures and customer 3rd party audits. The role will also involve metallurgical laboratory activities to perform analysis, aid the development of new products and support customer investigations.
Primary Responsibilities:Technical responsibility for welding across the organisationDevelopment and control of welding proceduresResponsible for qualifying and maintaining welder certificationChampion audit compliance in particular NADCAP and customer accreditationParticipate and implement Technology Development Plans for new welding and joining technology including robotic weldingInvolvement in Design for Manufacture assessments and Design reviewsMetallurgical analysis for weld certification and welder qualificationProvide training and technical support to Welding OperatorsParticipate and lead RRCA investigations and support implementing robust corrective actionsInitiate and drive continuous improvement activities to remove waste and improve efficiency
Work ExperienceEssential Qualifications:Significant background relating to welding and technical experienceProven background in the compliance to NADCAP accreditationGood familiarity with expectations associated with aerospace or other comprehensive quality assurance systems, including ISO9000 or AS9100Highly-motivated, flexible, responsive to change, and calm under pressureAbility to manage effectively, lead technical discussions and deliver on commitmentsExcellent verbal and written skills, including the ability to prepare and communicate technical information to Senior LeadershipLeads by example and has the ability to work across various departmental functions within the CompanyExperience conducting internal Quality audits or supporting Quality audits by external customers is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:International Welding Engineer (IWE) / European Welding Engineer (EWE) qualificationPrevious metallurgical experience
